FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We request that you wait to drop off your pet no more than 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may be rescheduled, and a fee may be assessed. We also ask that you attempt to pick up your pet within 30 minutes of being notified about the completion of services.

We operate on an appointment-only basis, but we may have same-day availability. Please give us a call to check.

We kindly request that you provide 24 hours or more notice if you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment. Any cancellations or rescheduling within 24 hours may result in a fee equivalent to the cost of your base service package. Failure to attend without prior notification will result in this fee being applied. If there are multiple last-minute cancellations or no-shows within 12 months, a non-refundable deposit may be required for future appointments or access to services may be denied.

Yes, additional coat charges may apply if your dog’s hair is longer and requires more time to groom.

Puppies must have had two rounds of shots, typically at around 9 weeks old. Alternatively, you can provide a letter from your vet confirming that your puppy is safe for grooming. For pets over 4 months old, a current rabies vaccine is required. This vaccine must be administered by a licensed vet, and you’ll need to provide paperwork from the vet before grooming services can begin. If your pet can’t receive a rabies vaccine due to health reasons, your vet will need to provide a letter on a repeated basis confirming that your dog doesn’t have rabies. We recommend following your vet’s guidance on all other vaccines.

When it comes to aggressive or reactive pets, each pet is evaluated for temperament and health issues during each visit. If there are certain behavioral issues, a medical or behavioral professional may need to be involved to monitor your pet’s reaction to stress.

Wagsville Doggie Spa accepts any puppy with at least 2 rounds of puppy vaccinations or a letter from your pet’s vet stating that grooming is safe. Senior pets are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, considering any health and behavioral issues that may need to be overseen by a medical professional to monitor your pet’s reaction to stress.

If your pet has health issues, the severity and stage of the issue will determine whether a letter from your vet is required stating that it is safe to groom your pet with or without restrictions, or if we may refer you to a medical professional for grooming.

If your pet is matted, we will try to safely demat your pet with our tools. If we are unable to do so, we will refer you to a medical professional for assistance.

Please note that multiple factors can affect groom time, including your dog’s size, coat, temperament, and services requested. We usually ask for 2-4 hours with your pet, but most pets will be ready well in advance of 4 hours.

While Wagsville Doggie Spa offers an array of high-quality products for your pet, we will use any grooming products prescribed by a vet for your pet. All other products will be evaluated by your groomer and their discretion will be used. We do not use products not labeled for use on dogs.

For the safety of all the pets that visit Wagsville, we do not accept pets with any parasitic infections, including fleas and ticks

We will attempt to make any and every effort to fix any issues you have when you pick up your pet, safety permitting, but we are unable to guarantee services due to the nature of our business. All sales are final.
